Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 8 minutes into the game, Lun Luna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Astor Barbosa in the 14th minute of play. In the 18th minute Astor Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Enzo Shantala in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Enzo Shantala made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. Enzo Shantala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. With a little luck, Howling Dawn U18's Enzo Shantala got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Howling Dawn U18 getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Mercurio Mercurio hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Hernan Azibar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Joel Gaona from long distance, 46 minutes into the match, got Enzo Shantala's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The Mexico players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Howling Dawn U18 were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Howling Dawn U18 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lun Luna to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Howling Dawn U18's goalkeeper Enzo Shantala, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofilo Oriol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Howling Dawn U18's Mercurio Mercurio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lun Luna during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 62 played minutes Howling Dawn U18 got a freekick which was hit by Lun Luna. Howling Dawn U18's Hernan Azibar managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Leoz in the 65 minute of the game. 68 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Howling Dawn U18's Enzo Shantala. Enzo Shantala was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Mexico's Alberto Tafalla looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Howling Dawn U18 made a substitution. Mars Marte replaced Tobias Sol. 83 minutes into the match, Howling Dawn U18's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Enzo Shantala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 92 played minutes Howling Dawn U18 got a freekick which was hit by Teofilo Oriol. The supporters of Mexico booed when Howling Dawn U18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Abilio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the referee ended the match the Mexico players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
