With a left leg Tobias Osoro saved Boquenses from getting behind. Nicolas Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustín Saelices was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tobias Osoro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Nicolas Sancho sent off a good shot on target. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tobias Osoro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Severino Rey hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Boquenses getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Severino Rey hit a great ball. Tobias Osoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 30 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tobias Osoro was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute Nicolas Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

But to his dismay, Nicolas Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 60th minute. Nicolas Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Boquenses's Feliciano Pancho got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tobias Osoro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 72nd minute Nicolas Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Sancho in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th match minute, Boquenses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregorio Tirso to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tobias Osoro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Nunez Gabino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boquenses's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Boquenses.
