Liu Chen Jian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Brasil off was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Osoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liu Chen Jian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leo Ortzi in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 35 minutes into the match, Leo Ortzi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 1-0. Leo Ortzi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Primitivo Andino made in the 43rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Felix Montenegro. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the match, Brasil off's Leo Ortzi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. 68 minutes into the match, Leo Ortzi notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 71 minutes into the match, Brasil off's Leo Ortzi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Liu Chen Jian came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After having played for 80 minutes, Leonardo Taurino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brasil off's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Taurino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Leo Ortzi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Ortzi in the 90th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brasil off's Liu Chen Jian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Brasil off from getting a goal against them.
