In the 3rdth minute of the game Axel Tasis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Walthamstow's Gage Pillai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 4th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 7th match minute, Walthamstow was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zack Phua to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Puig blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gage Pillai having to make a save. Bineesh Phua's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bineesh Phua helped the player get up and apologised. 9 minutes into the game, one of Walthamstow:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 11th minute there was a penalty for Costa Rica. Axel Tasis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gage Pillai. 0-1. After 15 minutes, Shafiq Sim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Walthamstow and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Shafiq Sim kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute of the match, Beagan Colwell tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Walthamstow booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beagan Colwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gage Pillai prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gage Pillai having to interfere. 37 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gage Pillai made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 40th minute Beagan Colwell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beagan Colwell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beagan Colwell hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Beagan Colwell to strike the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edwin Lindgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Israel Reno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute of the match, Axel Tasis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gage Pillai saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gage Pillai was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eliseo Noboa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 64 minute of play. Eliseo Noboa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 67th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Puig couldn't finish the play. Although Walthamstow had been in control for most of the match, Costa Rica still came away with the win.
