The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Noboa helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. Panos Telakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Petros Kalivrousis in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute Panos Telakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panos Telakis scored 1-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 42 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Nicasio Guijarro came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 43 minutes, Alan Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Dhafnospiliá BC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Dhafnospiliá BC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Owen Colbert in the 43rd minute of play. In the 47th minute, Petros Kalivrousis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dhafnospiliá BC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Nicasio Guijarro made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Nicasio Guijarro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 61st minute. The score was now 1-4. In the 66th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Petros Kalivrousis sent off a good shot on target. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panos Telakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Panos Telakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petros Kalivrousis got free with Benito Sanz in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 75 minutes, Axel Tasis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Dhafnospiliá BC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th minute, Axel Tasis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Panos Telakis was extremely unlucky when he, in the 77th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Dhafnospiliá BC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute, Petros Kalivrousis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 1-5. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panos Telakis in the 97th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Dhafnospiliá BC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
