An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Molina in the 64th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Efrain Moruga in the 65th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Guns And Roses's Astor Garaona. Axel Tasis took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fernand Hierro. Fernand Hierro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Efrain Moruga's late challenge caught a Guns And Roses's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Efrain Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernand Hierro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Efrain Moruga made in the 93rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Aaron Alcocer however managed to control. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Costa Rica were victorious despite being under pressure from Guns And Roses for much of the match.
