Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucjan Sniegowski. Lucjan Sniegowski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucjan Sniegowski having to interfere. Lucjan Sniegowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Lucjan Sniegowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lucjan Sniegowski. Mwanza Mukombo F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mwanza Mukombo F.C. throughout the match.
