Jānis Lielais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jānis Lielais firmly grabbed it by the left post. 44 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Artūrs Sagalats came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Mexico players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SK Annenieki were winning 0-2.
