When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Epifanio Harkaitz put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yin Chuan Feng breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to LEBRON getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Leonides Tajo hit a great ball. In the 17th minute, Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and LEBRON's Yin Chuan Feng didn't even have to move. After a defensive mix-up in LEBRON's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yin Chuan Feng came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yin Chuan Feng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Epifanio Harkaitz sent off a good shot on target. In the 25th minute, Marcin Danisiewicz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 27 minutes into the game, Felix Montes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LEBRON the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play forced LEBRON's goalkeeper Yin Chuan Feng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye LEBRON's goalie prevented a goal. In the 39th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. Epifanio Harkaitz might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Epifanio Harkaitz ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to LEBRON getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Lautaro Acosta hit a great ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Epifanio Harkaitz got free with Julio Vera in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Luo Qing Xi hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. LEBRON were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arnaldo Santxol took the corner. The corner ended in Arnaldo Santxol almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Jörn Scharff hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Yin Chuan Feng when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 60 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. An unexpectedly hard shot by Epifanio Harkaitz in the 61st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Epifanio Harkaitz came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. LEBRON made a substitution. Ariel Lopez replaced Epifanio Harkaitz. Marcin Danisiewicz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Yin Chuan Feng made a huge save. In the 86th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 95th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yin Chuan Feng was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Ecuador played a much better game than LEBRON and deserved their victory. The LEBRON players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
