Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alfred Hitchcock started the match with the kick off. Muhammad Kang made in the 4th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Steven Boon however managed to control. After 9 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. With an all-out effort, Brighton's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alfred Hitchcock, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 26th minute, Brighton's Alfred Hitchcock ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Brighton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred Hitchcock didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Albert Lim took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garry Vercauteren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garry Vercauteren having to interfere. If Steven Boon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Brighton's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alfred Hitchcock, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A collision led to Brighton getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Steven Boon hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred Hitchcock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfred Hitchcock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alfred Hitchcock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the game, Brighton's Alfred Hitchcock nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 71st minute. Brighton's Rudy Lee got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Albert Lim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute Alfred Hitchcock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 81 minutes, Alfred Hitchcock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brighton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfred Hitchcock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Alfred Hitchcock sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Garry Vercauteren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 94th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Brighton fully deserved thier win.
