Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Emanuel Vasco made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 5th minute, Nicasio Barea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Steelares FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Alan Moruga charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alan Moruga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Emanuel Vasco was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 12th minute. Steelares FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Jacobo Gartzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacobo Gartzi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Benito Sanz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Nicasio Barea. With his leg Benito Sanz managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when Steelares FC's Amadeo Marcones fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 24 minutes, Efrain Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Steelares FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Efrain Moruga got a free kick in the 24th minute. Nicasio Barea struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steelares FC. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amadeo Marcones in the 26th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Axel Tasis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eloy Gartxot. Steelares FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Tasis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 33 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Steelares FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas Bernabel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Emanuel Vasco took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicasio Barea. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeo Marcones, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play, Steelares FC's Amadeo Marcones made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Nicasio Barea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Nicasio Barea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicasio Barea in the 61st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute, Blas Bernabel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeo Marcones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeo Marcones in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Nicasio Barea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Silvestre Adrio came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvestre Adrio in the 96th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Steelares FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
