Amadeo Marcones showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Steelares FC's goalkeeper Eloy Gartxot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Eloy Gartxot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Panama's Alex Cambeiro got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Vasco came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Steelares FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Alguacil ran over to the corner to take the kick. Panama's Abraham Alguacil was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eloy Gartxot in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Panama's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abraham Alguacil in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Ariel Florinio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Steelares FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. In the 40th minute, one of Steelares FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Steelares FC. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeo Marcones, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 45th minute of play forced Steelares FC's goalkeeper Eloy Gartxot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Narciso Tab helped the player get up and apologised. Eloy Gartxot had in the 56thth minute some difficulties stopping Abraham Alguacil's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball The crowd rose to their feet as Panama's Abraham Alguacil slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eloy Gartxot. That made the score 3-1 after 56 minutes of play. After 59 minutes, Tomas Berganza made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Steelares FC's Eloy Gartxot tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 62 minutes into the game, Tomas Berganza recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eloy Gartxot. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, Panama's Tomas Berganza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eloy Gartxot narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Nicasio Barea got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcos Cotilla quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 83 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Steelares FC's Silvestre Adrio was substituted for Blas Bernabel. In the 87th minute, Tomas Berganza reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eloy Gartxot. The goal made the score 3-5.
