If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 9th minute of play forced Chelco FC's goalkeeper Saverio Fidele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led Peru's Eliseo Mina to fire away a dangerous shot which Saverio Fidele despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julian Murillo scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saverio Fidele, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 20 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Saverio Fidele narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 21stth minute of the game Rogelio Fe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Saverio Fidele didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 31 minutes Chelco FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Saverio Fidele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 34th minute of the match. Lambe Travieso made in the 37th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Saverio Fidele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 38th minute of play. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Godofredo Ugutz in the 40th minute. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Saverio Fidele didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Efraim Gilabert hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Rogelio Fe made the kick off in the second half. Chelco FC's Saverio Fidele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 55th minute of play. With a little luck, Chelco FC's Saverio Fidele got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Saverio Fidele read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 72nd minute of play forced Chelco FC's goalkeeper Saverio Fidele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saverio Fidele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Gallo in the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Peru eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
