A sloppy throw-in by Felix Montenegro in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Howling Dawn U18's Teofilo Oriol. After 18 minutes of play, Howling Dawn U18's Lun Luna made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Enzo Shantala made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Lun Luna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Lun Luna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Howling Dawn U18 getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Teofilo Oriol hit a great ball. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Enzo Shantala despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Howling Dawn U18's Enzo Shantala proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Howling Dawn U18 from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lun Luna in the 42nd minute of play. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Howling Dawn U18's Lun Luna. But to his dismay, Lun Luna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Lun Luna struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Howling Dawn U18. After the first half Howling Dawn U18 were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute, Lun Luna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 95th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle went the supporters of Howling Dawn U18 were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ecuador side.
