Eloy Gartxot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Honduras's Christian Sancho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Narciso Tab in the 13 minute of the game. 13 minutes into the match, Steelares FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Eloy Gartxot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eloy Gartxot was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Emanuel Vasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Emanuel Vasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Vasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Steelares FC's Fabricio Ganix got a free kick in the 24th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eloy Gartxot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 34 in the game by Edmundo Espiga from a close distance when the talented Eloy Gartxot managed to make a qualified save. Steelares FC's players were relieved. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Gartxot having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. Emanuel Ocampo kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. 52 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Nicasio Barea came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Steelares FC booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 minutes, Milagros Cabal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Honduras and the Steelares FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Cabal. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. In the 63rdth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Steelares FC's Eloy Gartxot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 65 played minutes Steelares FC got a freekick which was hit by Nicasio Barea. In the 72nd minute, Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eloy Gartxot came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Sebastian Villa. But to his dismay, Sebastian Villa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Steelares FC's Silvestre Adrio was substituted for Blas Bernabel. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeo Marcones in the 83rd minute of the match. After 85 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Navarro. 85 minutes into the match, Nicasio Barea notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot.
