Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Domingo Urki started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Carballo during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. After having played for 4 minutes, Domingo Urki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Formentera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingo Urki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Domingo Urki received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Domingo Urki slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 12th minute. After 16 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. Eliseo Noboa charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Noboa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Formentera booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Formentera's Domingo Urki got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seyhan Atlıhan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Seyhan Atlıhan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 26th minute of play. Formentera's Domingo Urki got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Seyhan Atlıhan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. If Domingo Urki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Formentera's Eustaquio Bartuelo. But to his dismay, Eustaquio Bartuelo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Eustaquio Bartuelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Eustaquio Bartuelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 66 minutes, Eustaquio Bartuelo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Formentera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eustaquio Bartuelo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 69th minute Eustaquio Bartuelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eustaquio Bartuelo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Axel Tasis might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Seyhan Atlıhan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Tasis ran back to his position shaking his head. 86 minutes into the game, Domingo Urki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd minute Domingo Urki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Eustaquio Bartuelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 98thth minute of the game Domingo Urki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Formentera walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
