Chile's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 48th match minute, Didi Fútbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Vicastillo to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mihăiţă Afloarei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 71st minute of play forced Didi Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Sergio Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Didi Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Sergio Romero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
