An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 6th minute of play forced Didi Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Sergio Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Segio Galarza hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Luz Tejedor fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sergio Romero quite easily take care of the ball. Didi Fútbol Club's Sergio Romero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Didi Fútbol Club from getting a goal against them. In the 15th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julian Murillos short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Sergio Romero to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sergio Romero was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. 21 minutes into the match, Didi Fútbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Sergio Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Rodney Lecanda in the 29th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Sergio Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute of the match Peru got a corner. Didi Fútbol Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sergio Romero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Sergio Romero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute Mihăiţă Afloarei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sergio Romero, 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Sergio Romero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. 91 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sergio Romero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gürsel Yalgın lost his temper 93 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Peru a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eliseo Mina, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Didi Fútbol Club's Sergio Romero. 7-1.
