Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ball Hold breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Pegale De Puntín's Ball Hold got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner ended in Hipolito Cristos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
