Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles De Meur having to interfere. Frank Björkdahls short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Berkshire Harthaway FC.'s goalkeeper Charles De Meur, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Charles De Meur was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After 43 played minutes Berkshire Harthaway FC. got a freekick which was hit by Miklós Szalay. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Björkdahl in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
