Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dante Lacasa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lancelot Cambero having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 27th minute of play forced Itacaruaré's goalkeeper Lancelot Cambero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Fabricio Checa sent off a good shot on target. Lancelot Cambero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Fabricio Checa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Facundo Cadaval advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-1 in the 63rd minute. Leonardo Leoz made in the 71st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Alberto Tafalla however managed to control. In the 72nd minute, Alberto Tafalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Itacaruaré's Fabricio Checa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lancelot Cambero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 81st minute of the match. Lancelot Cambero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 83rd minute of play. Fabricio Checa might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dante Lacasa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabricio Checa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 85th minute Fabricio Checa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Itacaruaré's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Lancelot Cambero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Rouco to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute, Fabricio Checa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The Itacaruaré support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
