In the 23rd minute, Jonas Mercurio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eddie Hultman. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Vase having to interfere. Eddie Hultman in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jonas Mercurio kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 36th minute of play forced Bennis's goalkeeper Marcus Vase to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Bennis's Eddie Hultman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Guillermo Mariano made in the 40th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Bennis's Florian Siembab. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 45 minutes into the game, Guillermo Mariano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
