Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 史铮坤 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Ilulea FC's zone, Luz Tejedor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabby Arias came out of the goal and Luz Tejedor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emmanuel Reyes kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Golembiewski in the 13th minute of play. When Luz Tejedor came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luz Tejedor couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 27th minute of play forced Ilulea FC's goalkeeper Gabby Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Reyes to maneuver through the defense. Julian Murillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eleuterio Mirande in the 34th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Gabby Arias in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ilulea FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. If Marian Golembiewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the game, Ilulea FC's Eleuterio Mirande nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After the first half Ilulea FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when 史铮坤 made the kick off in the second half. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 55 minutes, Julian Murillo made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ilulea FC's Gabby Arias tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gabby Arias didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After 62 played minutes Ilulea FC got a freekick which was hit by Viktor Häger. In the 64th minute, 史铮坤 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 69 minutes Ilulea FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Joaquin Prats kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Eleuterio Mirande tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabby Arias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabby Arias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ilulea FC's goalkeeper Gabby Arias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Ilulea FC defense, Eliseo Mina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gabby Arias. The Ilulea FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gabby Arias should have stopped the shot. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. After 92 minutes, Martin Gorbea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ilulea FC and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Martin Gorbea hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Eliseo Mina took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabby Arias. Gabby Arias dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Peru fully deserved thier win.
