Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomas Illescas took the kick off in the first half of the match. Walmyr Salles received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Walmyr Salles slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 10th minute. Jailson Teles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 16th minute of the match. The nice shot from Walmyr Salles in the 19thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Jonathan Ferrant had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. After 21 played minutes AVAÍ F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rubens Cabral. Jailson Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 22nd minute of play. In the 26th minute, AVAÍ F.C.'s Dario Alegría dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Manfredo Gerber in the 29 minute of the game. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Alex Sági tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Jailson Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Alegría, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 44th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Walmyr Salles to strike the kick off in the second half. Walmyr Salles scored 4-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Walmyr Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Walmyr Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Dario Alegría kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmyr Salles in the 67th minute of play. AVAÍ F.C.'s Elias Figueroa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Walmyr Salles took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by AVAÍ F.C.'s Dario Alegría. But to his dismay, Dario Alegría quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. 80 minutes into the match, Walmyr Salles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walmyr Salles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. When AVAÍ F.C.'s Dario Alegría in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. The AVAÍ F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when AVAÍ F.C.'s Dario Alegría looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 9-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of AVAÍ F.C. booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walmyr Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivory Gunn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manfredo Gerber during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Venezuela booed when AVAÍ F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manfredo Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AVAÍ F.C. fully deserved thier win.
