In the 27th minute Mai Hong Zhen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas scored 0-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vágner Loyola, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Loyola having to interfere. Rigoberto Mina lost his temper 44 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Korhan Türkol to strike the kick off in the second half. ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡'s Ermanno Cinalli couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 60th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Venezuela. When Rodolfo Muc was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. After having played for 83 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anselmo Millano kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mai Hong Zhen went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 94th minute Mai Hong Zhen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
