The supporters of Atletico San Jacopino booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Sergio Sandalio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico San Jacopino's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Sandalio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelio Di Luca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Sergio Sandalio's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sergio Sandalio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd match minute, Atletico San Jacopino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergio Sandalio to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Di Luca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
