Oliver Can was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Oliver Can showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of the match. La Gallardeta's Oliver Can played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of play. After having played for 15 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oliver Can showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 17th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliver Can breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Flavio Gonchan's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Flavio Gonchan helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ecuador booed when La Gallardeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Gonchan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rafael Haimar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when La Gallardeta's Kjell Alsvik fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. La Gallardeta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rafael Haimar in the 28th minute. The corner ended in Rafael Haimar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oliver Can prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Felix Montes was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Oliver Can showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 41 minutes of play La Gallardeta's Flavio Gonchan was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to La Gallardeta getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Flavio Gonchan hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, La Gallardeta's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Oliver Can reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Julio Vera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rafael Haimar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. After 57 played minutes La Gallardeta got a freekick which was hit by Abel Ponciano. La Gallardeta's Esteban Leizarraga was substituted for Teodoro Delfino. In the 76th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Oliver Can. Oliver Can yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. A collision led to La Gallardeta getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Timos Karabelas hit a great ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filip Měchura in the 81st minute of play. When La Gallardeta's Filip Měchura in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Oliver Can made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filip Měchura, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
