Flores Arlt's Efrain Guillem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 21st minute of play. Efrain Guillem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Guaberto Henry might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dante Lacasa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guaberto Henry ran back to his position shaking his head. After 31 minutes Flores Arlt's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Alberto Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Efrain Guillem. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. Efrain Guillem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 39th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Marcial Ourente sent off a good shot on target.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 51st minute of play forced Flores Arlt's goalkeeper Efrain Guillem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Efrain Guillem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Mexico failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
