Andréas Linquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassius Byrne in the 9th minute of the match. If Monty Rogers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andréas Linquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 13th minute of play. Andréas Linquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Grêmio Papão de WC's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Andréas Linquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Edward Mcdonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Day made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo Muniz in the 23rd minute. Rodrigo Munizs short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Marco Day to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gergely Takács hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 26th minute of play forced Grêmio Papão de WC's goalkeeper Andréas Linquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute of the match, Rodrigo Muniz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marco Day was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Muniz was the one to do the kick off. Marcus de Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Monty Rogers reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andréas Linquist. The goal made the score 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodrigo Muniz in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Muniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Grêmio Papão de WC's José Leme was substituted for Gergely Takács. Grêmio Papão de WC's Gedeon Káposztás was substituted for Rodrigo Muniz. Koby Fletcher kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Grêmio Papão de WC's Andréas Linquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Mcdonald in the 74th minute of play. Andréas Linquist made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Edward Mcdonald sent off a good shot on target. Andréas Linquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Grêmio Papão de WC's Zygmunt Nakoneczny got a free kick in the 83rd minute. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. A collision led to Grêmio Papão de WC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Zygmunt Nakoneczny hit a great ball. In the 87th minute Gedeon Káposztás shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Khalid Parry kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Andréas Linquist. That made the score 2-2 in the 93 minute of play. Gedeon Káposztás's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. USA were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
