Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Almiron in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matias Maties in the 21st minute. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Miguel Almiron kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. After 29 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Baltasar Sancho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Baltasar Sancho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baltasar Sancho was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. When Sacro Balompié's Miguel Almiron in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Despite this Baltasar Sancho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 57 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Almiron came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Almiron scored 3-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Baltasar Sancho came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 81st minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Almiron in the 83rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Baltasar Sancho in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Baltasar Sancho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 86th minute. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 87th minute. After having played for 90 minutes, Teobaldo Bernal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sacro Balompié's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teobaldo Bernal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
