Spectators: 52 (Terracing: 39, Seating: 12, VIP seats: 1) Julian Murillo made the kick off and thus started the match. Gregor Kobel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 4th minute of play. In the 7th minute Alain Berset shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julian Murillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregor Kobel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julian Murillo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 12th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregor Kobel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Prats hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nino Schurter, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 27 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rogelio Montez. In the 31st minute of the match Peru got a corner. Espen Steelers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Peru's Joaquin Prats to fire away a dangerous shot which Gregor Kobel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Joaquin Prats notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Espen Steelers's Gregor Kobel. Gregor Kobel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ingo Minder made in the 35th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Marco Odermatt. 36 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rogelio Montez. 38 minutes into the game, Alain Berset cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 41 minutes into the match, Espen Steelers's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Gregor Kobel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Peru booed when Espen Steelers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingo Minder didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Peru were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rogelio Montez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Julian Murillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gregor Kobel. That made the score 1-3 in the 52 minute of play. The supporters of Peru booed when Espen Steelers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Williams Imholz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogelio Montez took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. 62 minutes into the match, Marco Odermatt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Odermatt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. In the 67th minute, Eliseo Mina fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gregor Kobel, passed just outside the right post. Espen Steelers's Stan Wawrinka was substituted for Rogelio Montez. With a little luck, Espen Steelers's Gregor Kobel got control of the ball when Luz Tejedor tried to sneak it across the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Tobie Canclini in the 77th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 79 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gregor Kobel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julian Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stan Wawrinka went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. A collision led to Espen Steelers getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Williams Imholz hit a great ball. A hard shot 94 in the game by Antonio Tenorio from a close distance when the talented Gregor Kobel managed to make a qualified save. Espen Steelers's players were relieved. Torben Krabber made in the 96th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Lenny Rubin immediately put the ball in play. Many of Peru's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Peru may have spent more time on the ball, but Espen Steelers were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
