Leftraro's Nahuel Catrileo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerard Utrera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niceto Baettig charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Niceto Baettig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th minute there was a penalty for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nahuel Catrileo. 0-2. Nahuel Catrileo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by C.F. Leftraro's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerard Utrera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. A collision led to C.F. Leftraro getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Norberto da Silva hit a great ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebati Doğulu to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Nahuel Catrileo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 57th minute, Niceto Baettig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerard Utrera in the 59th minute of play.
