Mexico's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After some careless play in the CHMIELAKI defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebastian Ziomkowski. The CHMIELAKI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastian Ziomkowski should have stopped the shot. Maciej Tylinski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Wiktor Dropinski came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mexico fans cheered their team off the field, for while CHMIELAKI had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
