FC ANC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artemio Quiroga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Måns Kjellman notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Tudor having to interfere. In the 29th minute Artemio Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Tudor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after FC ANC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner ended in Felix Montenegro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC ANC's Martin Tudor did a great save. Felix Montenegro did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Martin Tudor 38 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artemio Quiroga in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Tudor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Måns Kjellman came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Artemio Quiroga made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Quiroga, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Martin Tudor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when FC ANC's Måns Kjellman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Måns Kjellman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. FC ANC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anıl Akdoruk in the 68th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ecuador's goalie and right to Flavio Migliorati. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Migliorati in the 68th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when FC ANC's Måns Kjellman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Marc-André Wedekind had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Måns Kjellman sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Tudor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, FC ANC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Martin Tudor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martin Tudor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After a rather tough play, FC ANC's Artemio Quiroga got a free kick in the 89th minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 94th minute, which inside left pole to 2-4. The Ecuador supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC ANC's performance. The match ended with a win for FC ANC.
