But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Vágner Loyola made a huge save. In the 6th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Mexico's Facundo Cadaval to fire away a dangerous shot which Vágner Loyola despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 8th minute, Mexico's Joel Gaona dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 12th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vágner Loyola saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Vágner Loyola in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mai Hong Zhen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. But to his dismay, Korhan Türkol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡'s Vágner Loyola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡ from getting a goal against them. In the 41st minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Alberto Tafalla managed to volley towards the net. When Ermanno Cinalli fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡'s protests and gave Ermanno Cinalli a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mexico booed when ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ermanno Cinalli didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 98th minute, Lautaro Mancebo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There was no doubt that Mexico were the better team. Mexico's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
