But to his dismay, Edward Mcdonald quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 15th minute Chesney Summers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. USA's Marco Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save USA from getting a goal against them. Edward Mcdonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After some careless play in the USA defense, Chesney Summers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Day. The USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Day should have stopped the shot. The supporters of USA booed when Korona Kielce was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabi Martinelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Alex Macedo got free in front of the goal in the 83rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Marco Day was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Raimo Ülend took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Campbell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. USA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
