After 14 played minutes Eliseo Noboa rounded F.C. Liverpool Tobago's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C. Liverpool Tobago's Kevon Najjar. But to his dismay, Kevon Najjar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Franklin Mitchell-Gift took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Sooklal in the 25th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Franklin Mitchell-Gift fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Kevon Najjar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Mitchell-Gift in the 30th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franklin Mitchell-Gift in the 33rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Franklin Mitchell-Gift's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. In the 38th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. After 40 minutes of play, F.C. Liverpool Tobago's Kevon Najjar made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Aaron Alcocer got free with Palaimon Gomatos in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. F.C. Liverpool Tobago were winning 1-3.

With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Anton Phipps tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anton Phipps kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Anton Phipps received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when F.C. Liverpool Tobago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. Liverpool Tobago the free kick. If Jan Sooklal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, F.C. Liverpool Tobago's Franklin Mitchell-Gift dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. In the 77th minute Franklin Mitchell-Gift shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Franklin Mitchell-Gift kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Palaimon Gomatos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 80th minute of play. In the last second Benito Sanz throw himself and got hold of the ball when Franklin Mitchell-Gift in the 82ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Mitchell-Gift in the 83rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Costa Rica fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 88th minute. Penalty! Benito Sanz had in the 89thth minute some difficulties stopping Craig Callendar's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Franklin Mitchell-Gift could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Jan Sooklal in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Aaron Alcocer fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Aaron Alcocer a yellow card for diving instead. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. When the match was over F.C. Liverpool Tobago could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Costa Rica throughout the match.
