Edelmiro Osmundo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Marcial Ourente's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Manzanares was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. In the 18th minute, Marcial Ourente ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 26 minutes into the game, Gerardo Bedoya threw the ball into play from the sideline. Efrain Guillem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Colombia were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Flores Arlt's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Axel Montenegro took the corner. Axel Montenegro made a great header on Colombia's corner, it was just that Flores Arlt's Efrain Guillem managed to reach the ball for a save. Antonio Indiano kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Abram Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Efrain Guillem dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Efrain Guillem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Mastache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flores Arlt made a substitution. Sabin Răchită replaced Marcial Ourente. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. In the 70thth minute of the game Ignacio Mastache who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flores Arlt's Efrain Guillem was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sabin Răchită. 73 minutes into the match, Flores Arlt's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Secada came free, but Efrain Guillem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kevin Mastache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
