Kurzawka's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 18 played minutes Kurzawka got a freekick which was hit by Slawomir Lichorobiec. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludomir Lizewski in the 20th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zdzislaw Puzio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Zdzislaw Puzio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zdzislaw Puzio having to interfere. After some careless play in the Kurzawka defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zdzislaw Puzio. The Kurzawka fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zdzislaw Puzio should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. A collision led to Kurzawka getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Boruc Majdoch hit a great ball. Zdzislaw Puzio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Slawomir Lichorobiec was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kurzawka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Kurzawka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slawomir Lichorobiec didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Kurzawka's Zdzislaw Puzio. Zdzislaw Puzio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Kurzawka's Zdzislaw Puzio got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Kurzawka's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Zdzislaw Puzio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Zdzislaw Puzio in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Kurzawka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radomil Kisiel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zdzislaw Puzio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Zdzislaw Puzio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 94 minute of play. The Kurzawka fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
