UFC Pivnica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viktor Kasarda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ľubomír Smatana in the 22nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UFC Pivnica's Ladislav Lomnický was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 32 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. Ľubomír Smatana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ladislav Lomnický narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 43 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The supporters of UFC Pivnica booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Pavol Rybnický came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Daniel Vičan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The tension between the UFC Pivnica and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th match minute, UFC Pivnica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jozef Hecl to maneuver through the defense. When Maroš Baránek fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UFC Pivnica's protests and gave Maroš Baránek a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to UFC Pivnica getting a freekick after 69 minutes play.
