In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind VAKFIKEBİR SPOR's goalkeeper Kálmán Berecz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Arda Ozan Zühtü had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 20th minute Yıldıray Kırman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Yıldıray Kırman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yıldıray Kırman in the 44th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Kutay Kağan, made in the 46th minute of the game. 47 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Francisco Seco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kálmán Berecz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, VAKFIKEBİR SPOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yıldıray Kırman to maneuver through the defense. Yıldıray Kırman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arda Ozan Zühtü got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 86th minute of play forced VAKFIKEBİR SPOR's goalkeeper Kálmán Berecz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arda Ozan Zühtü who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Joaquin Gayoso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Chants of VAKFIKEBİR SPOR echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Uruguay had held the ball for most of the match.
