With a couple of smart ball manuevers Duran Hunalp in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 20thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cabezones's Dong Zhen Song was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute, Felix Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Dong Zhen Song. Cabezones's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 29 played minutes Cabezones got a freekick which was hit by Wu Jie Hong. Cabezones's Duran Hunalp was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 33rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Hernando in the 37th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Abelardo Artizar who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Cabezones's corner Raf Feys fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. In the 46th minute of the match Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dong Zhen Song skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Cabezones defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dong Zhen Song. The Cabezones fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dong Zhen Song should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Oso, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Celso Hernando recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celso Hernando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duran Hunalp in the 74th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Oso in the 77th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Raf Feys got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
