Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. David Bucciarelli started the match with the kick off. Angelino Thomas didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Stein Jamieson scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-1. In the 14th play minute David Bucciarelli came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Julio Vera. 2-1. In the 18th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Gaztea in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angelino Thomas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 25 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelino Thomas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Fiambalá's Victoriano Gaztea got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Angelino Thomas. Fiambalá's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Helmut Lips was slow to take the kick. During this time Fiambalá's players had a chance to rest. Fiambalá were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Helmut Lips took the corner. The corner led Fiambalá's Modesto Peio to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Fiambalá's Stein Jamieson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Fiambalá's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelino Thomas came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Ecuador were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fiambalá's Angelino Thomas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 51st minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Fiambalá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Helmut Lips didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57thth minute of the game David Bucciarelli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Stein Jamieson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angelino Thomas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 67th minute. Angelino Thomas didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 67th minute, which inside left pole to 2-4. With a little luck, Fiambalá's Angelino Thomas got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 74 minutes Fiambalá's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 82 minutes into the match, Fiambalá's goalkeeper Angelino Thomas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fiambalá's Angelino Thomas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Fiambalá from getting a goal against them. 89 minutes into the match, Fiambalá's goalkeeper Angelino Thomas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fiambalá.
