Pål Bergmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Ģirts Ozols could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egons Ozollapa in the 8th minute of play. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Ģirts Ozols tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kārlis Dzintars, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pål Bergmann. DZINTARS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Gaona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Pål Bergmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 22nd minute of the match. Pål Bergmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Ģirts Ozols capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ģirts Ozols really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 36th minute of play forced DZINTARS's goalkeeper Pål Bergmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in DZINTARS's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pål Bergmann came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo suffered a concussion after 42 minutes and had to leave the field. Saulvedis Salaszemnieks's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saulvedis Salaszemnieks helped the player get up and apologised. Mexico made a substitution. Bautista Elvira replaced Lautaro Mancebo. In the 43rd minute, Saulvedis Salaszemnieks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Bergmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bautista Elvira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Mexico booed when DZINTARS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmunds Tambergs didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. Bautista Elvira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pål Bergmann having to interfere. After having played for 54 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. DZINTARS's Henrihs Linkūns was substituted for Kārlis Dzintars. With a little luck, DZINTARS's Pål Bergmann got control of the ball when Bautista Elvira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th match minute, DZINTARS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egons Ozollapa to maneuver through the defense. Bautista Elvira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pål Bergmann firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 79th minute, Edmunds Tambergs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Egons Ozollapa hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pål Bergmann came out and tried to block the shot, but Alberto Tafalla slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 85th minute. Pål Bergmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico played a much better game than DZINTARS and deserved their victory. The DZINTARS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
