In the 3rd match minute, DZINTARS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bryant Solis to maneuver through the defense. Bryant Solis's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ģirts Ozols went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Bergmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, DZINTARS's Edmunds Tambergs got a free kick in the 24th minute. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Pål Bergmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 38th minute of play forced DZINTARS's goalkeeper Pål Bergmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Bryant Solis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

DZINTARS's Pål Bergmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save DZINTARS from getting a goal against them. Henrihs Linkūns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Pål Bergmann came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Pål Bergmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrihs Linkūns, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. A hard shot 83 in the game by Cristian Sancho from a close distance when the talented Pål Bergmann managed to make a qualified save. DZINTARS's players were relieved. Saulvedis Salaszemnieks kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 90thth minute of the game Bryant Solis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bryant Solis scored 3-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The DZINTARS fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ecuador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
