Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Axel Tasis took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Honorio Aztore kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Paulino Katia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Baldomero Lapurdi sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute, Benigno Chago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Eliseo Noboa made a precise shot to the right of Niceto Virila. Nuevo Horizonte's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 26th minute, Alexander Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulino Katia was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Nemesio Meder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Niceto Virila narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 34 minutes into the match, Baldomero Lapurdi notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Niceto Virila didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseo Noboa went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomero Lapurdi in the 42nd minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Feliberto Ramirez. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulino Katia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 3-2 in the 44 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baldomero Lapurdi was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Leo Rutenio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Paulino Katia struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nuevo Horizonte. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baldomero Lapurdi in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 59 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. Niceto Virila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Alcocer in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Baldomero Lapurdi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nuevo Horizonte fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-2. 81 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Niceto Virila. Eliseo Noboa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 7-3. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Alexander Carballo hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Honorio Aztore came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th match minute, Nuevo Horizonte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guido Lucero to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Nuevo Horizonte booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nuevo Horizonte's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
