Patagonia's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Mauro Vermudo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Mauro Vermudo. 18 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mauro Vermudo. Social y Dep. Patagonia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mauro Vermudo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 22nd minute, Agustín Saelices made a precise shot to the right of Mauro Vermudo. Social y Dep. Patagonia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. 25 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mauro Vermudo. Social y Dep. Patagonia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Social y Dep. Patagonia's Mauro Vermudo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of play. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mauro Vermudo. Mauro Vermudo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. Mauro Vermudo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Mauro Vermudo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Mauro Vermudo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-9 was the resulting score. 45 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-10, to the right of Social y Dep. Patagonia's Mauro Vermudo. Mauro Vermudo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-10 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Mauro Vermudo got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 52nd minute, Agustín Saelices ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauro Vermudo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-11. 55 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-12. Mauro Vermudo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mauro Vermudo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 59th minute of play. Mauro Vermudo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Agustín Saelices slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mauro Vermudo. That made the score 0-16 after 76 minutes of play. Mauro Vermudo came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-17. Mauro Vermudo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-18 was the resulting score. Cristian Sancho scored 0-19 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mauro Vermudo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 88 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 0-20 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mauro Vermudo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Social y Dep. Patagonia's Mauro Vermudo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Social y Dep. Patagonia from getting a goal against them. 92 minutes into the match, Social y Dep. Patagonia's goalkeeper Mauro Vermudo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. 93 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-21. Mauro Vermudo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Social y Dep. Patagonia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
