An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarell Hill in the 21st minute of play forced Nuevo Horizonte's goalkeeper Niceto Virila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 played minutes Jamaica got a freekick which was hit by Leron Sale. Niceto Virila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Finlay Stair, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 played minutes Nuevo Horizonte got a freekick which was hit by Nemesio Meder. 27 minutes into the match, Karlus Waugh notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Nuevo Horizonte's Niceto Virila. Niceto Virila was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 30 played minutes Jamaica got a freekick which was hit by Kordal Duff. In the 32nd minute Paulino Katia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demonde Jacobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niceto Virila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romon Oliver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of Jamaica:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nuevo Horizonte:s goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

There was no doubt that Nuevo Horizonte were the better team. Nuevo Horizonte's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
