In the 12th minute, Vassilis Batzis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Αστέρας's goalkeeper Iraklis Vazakos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Dionysis Koukos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Eugenios Iordanis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Αστέρας's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugenios Iordanis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eugenios Iordanis in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27th minute of the match Αστέρας got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Manos Karagiannopoulos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Theocharis Violopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iraklis Vazakos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. From close distance Eugenios Iordanis pressed in the 2-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 42 minutes into the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Eugenios Iordanis sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. If Vassilis Batzis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iraklis Vazakos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Αστέρας's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iraklis Vazakos came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Iraklis Vazakos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 73rd minute of the match. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iraklis Vazakos having to interfere. Αστέρας's Theocharis Violopoulos got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eugenios Iordanis struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Αστέρας. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Αστέρας's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
