Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Pardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 江震斌 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Pardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in 大隐隐于市's zone, Jaime Pardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 江震斌 came out of the goal and Jaime Pardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. 温伟镇 was the one to do the kick off. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. 江震斌 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to 大隐隐于市 getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. 温伟镇 hit a great ball. Jaime Pardo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-1 to the left of a surprised 江震斌 70 minutes into the match. Primitivo Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 江震斌 having to interfere. Hector Covarrubias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. 江震斌 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hector Covarrubias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 江震斌 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. During the 88th minute of the match 温伟镇 completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent.
